being ततच as some scribe copying B might have corrected this तच्च to इतश्च; and in $ 892 I give the faulty reading भार्यासुतो, which some copyist might have corrected to सभार्यासुती . On the other hand I have neglected most of the numerous marginal and other additions made by later hands, especially the numerous stanzas written on the margins of B. For these additions are clearly not taken from a genuine, or even from any, MS. of our T. As to the corrections entered by later hands in my MSS., I give them, wherever they are good; in these cases, of course, I always explicitly state the fact that these emendations go back not to the copyist himself, but to some later corrector. The Chief Librarian of the East India Office, London, Mr. F. W. Thomas, kindly revised the above lines in respect of their style. Moreover, he as well as Shastravisharada Jaināchārya Shri Dharmavijaya Suri of Benares, and Mr. Premchand Keshavlal Mody, B. A., of Ahmedabad, provided me with the MSS. on which my edition is based. The Sādhu Indra Vijaya, senior disciple to Dharma Vijaya Süri, kindly explained me the expressions श्रीकरणाध्यक्ष ($ 740), खटीक, and झगटक (in the Sanskrit texts printed in the introduction to the German translation); he gave me his opinion on रस ( 7410), and confirmed my explication of वैज्ञानशालिक ($ 115 ). I here express my sincere feelings of gratitude for the kind help afforded to me by these gentlemen.
