and the noun möhi may be derived from this root. So the whole expression will mean 'an operation or transaction of weighing an article'. We can arrive at a similar sense by another way also. This is to connect mõhi with the noun mõpu meaning 'a load'. The noun māpu of Kannada has its parallel in the Telugu root mõpu which means 'to load'. The above expression is not familiar to the students of Kannada language and deserves to be noted.
