यम्यास्ति प्रतिभा सदैव विशदा, सद्भावभावोद्भवा, व्याख्याने न च तस्य किं तत यशो - प्रन्थाद् भवेद् गौरवम् ||१०||
सरसिजमधुमाद्यन्मञ्जगुञ्जद्विरेफे,
सरससर सिकूले, गन्धवाहानुकूले ।
'मधुपकुलनिनादो नादवृन्देवर 'सद् -
युगपरमथ चान्यं कृष्यतामुच्यतां वा ॥ १०२॥
The Sutras of Hemchandra so deftly hinted at by these verses are for verse 90 तस्य व्याख्याने च प्रन्थाव ( ६-३-१४२ ) and for verse 102 पर: ( ७-४-११८ )
Like the anonymous verse of धीरः कीदृक्, etc. given above, the following verge of लक्षणविलास contains a number of questions, which if answered correctly bring out the particular Sutra of हैम व्याकरण to which the verse refers.
रसरुधिरविमुक्त भाति केषां शरीरं,
रसभरभरितः किं काव्यविज्ञाय पाठः । अभिमतमभिधानं धीविहीनस्य कीटक,
स्मरतु लघु तृतीयाध्यायपादं द्वितीयं ||४९||
The answer to the first line is देवानाम्, to the second, प्रिय: and to the third, देवानांप्रियः thus we get the Sutra देवानांप्रिय: ( ३-२-३४ ). The same device of hinting at the Sutras by means of questions is employed in the following verse of which the previously quoted anonymous verse " धीरः कीदृगू" is the prototype: -
