The conjunct न्म becomes म्म अधोलोपावादः - See II. 78. 68. पलङ्क comes from Sk. पल्यङ्क by dropping of य by II. 78 and then by doubling of . 71. कथं कहावणो — The Sk. word is कार्षापण which changes its conjunct to ; thus the normal form would be काहावणो and not कहावणो. H. explains कहावणो by shortening its first vowel by I. 84 and then by changing the conjunct into ; or suggests that it may come from 19. This word however is unknown to Sk. 75. fas etc.,-See II. 110. 77-79. These three rules are general rules on the treatment of conjunct consonants in Prakrit. 77., etc., as first members of conjuncts are dropped. ff followed by or and or is respectively called जिह्वामूलीय and उपध्मानीय and written as as in दुःख and as in अन्त:पात. 78. म, न and य as second members of conjuncts are dropped. 79. Excepting the conjunct in a,, (and) and , whether first or second members of conjuncts are dropped.nyai etc.-In conjuncts, like, the dropping of by II. 77 and of a by II. 79 is allowed; in such cases one or the other, according to instances found, is to be dropped. see 80.. हृदशद्वस्य etc., — For स्थितिपरिवृत्ति ( Metathesis ) below II. 116 - 124 वोद्रह m. and वोद्रही f. are देशी words meaning a young man and woman. fg gin, Sk. शिक्षन्तां तरुण्यः, वोद्रहद्रहम्मि पतिता, Sk. तरुणहृदे पतिता. 89-93. These are fundamental rules on the treatment of conjuncts and their importance has already been emphasised in the introductory note to this Pada. 92. लाक्षणिक दीर्घ or अनुखार is that which comes in on account of the application of a rule of grammar; e. g.,
