The other reading gives: व्यासेनापि भारतं स्तम्भे बद्धम्. For want of context the meaning of the line is uncertain. • 400. The द of आपद्, संपद् and विपद् is changed to s in अपभ्रंश. (1) अनयं कुर्वतः पुरुषस्य आपद् आयाति । ".Calamity befalls a person who does wrong deed." For गुणहिं न संपय see. 335. 1. 401. कथं, यथा and तथा have केम (के) किम, (कि) किह, किध; जेम (जे) जिम (जे), जिह, जिध; तेम (तेवँ), तिम (ते), तिह, तिघ, in अपभ्रंश. (1) कथं समाप्यतां दुष्टं दिनं कथं रात्रिः शीघ्रं (छुडु) भवति। . . नववधूदर्शनलालसकः वहति मनोरथान् सोऽपि ॥ " How will this wicked ( tedius) day come to an end? how will the night.come soon ? (so) he who is eager to meet his bride cherishes longings.” . (2) ओ गौरीमुखनिर्जितकः वार्दले निलीनः मृगाङ्कः। . अन्योऽपि यः परिभूततनुः स कथं भ्रमति निःशङ्कम् ॥ .: "I think ( ओ सूचनायाम् ), the moon hides himself in • . the mass of clouds ( वद्दल वादळ in Marathi ) being defeated • by the face of the fair maid; how can he, who is this defeated, wander fearlessly? " लुक्क is निलीनः, cf. लपमें, लुकणे . - in Marathi. (3) बिम्बाधरे तन्व्याः रदनकणः कथं स्थितः श्रीआनन्द। . निरुपमरसं प्रियेण पीत्वेव शेषस्य दत्ता मुद्रा॥... "0 आनन्द, how does the tooth-mark on the bimbalike nether lip of the fair one stand ( look )?” ( The reply is ): "Her lover has drunk its excellent ju d has put a seal to the rest as it were (so that no one else should taste it)." ...
