________________ 652 APPENDIX भ्यस्. भ्यस् 2-15. These sūtras describe the declension of masculine words ending in 37. To facilitate the understanding of rules I give below the technical names of declensional terminations. Sing. Plural Nom. Voc. सि जस् ( अस्) Acc. अम् शस् ( अस्) Inst. टा (आ) भिस । Dative. डे (ए) Abl. ङसि ( अस्) Genitive ङस् ( अस् ) आम् Locative These terminations undergo changes according to the ending and gender of words. It would not serve any useful purpose to explain these şātras; I am therefore i giving only the results in an intelligible form for the benefit of the beginner. MASCULINE WORDS ENDING IN अ.. वच्छ, Sk. वृक्ष. Sing. Plural Nom. वच्छो वच्छा . . Acc. वच्छे-वच्छा Inst. वच्छेण-वच्छेणं वच्छेहि, वच्छेहिं, वच्छेहि Abl. वच्छा, वच्छत्तो, वच्छाओ, वच्छत्तो, वच्छाओ, वच्छाउ, वच्छाउ, वच्छाहिं, वच्छाहिंतो, वच्छेहि, वच्छाहिंतो, वच्छेहितो, वच्छासुंतो. वच्छासुंतो वच्छेसुंतो. Gen. वच्छस्स वच्छाण-णं वच्छे, वच्छम्मि वच्छेसु, वच्छेसुं Voc. वच्छ, वच्छा, वच्छो वच्छा . Sūtras 8 and 9 mention two terminations and which become ओ and उ in the principal Prakrit ; in शौरसेनी they retain their दकार. . 16-24. These Sūtras give the declension of Masculine Words ending in and 3. वच्छं Loc.
