The general run of mankind can ill-afford to forego the pleasures which their senses yield them or the contact with the physical objects. When such men stumble on some book describing the Bliss to be got in Absolution, their fancy is caught and forthwith they begin to experiment along a line which their fancy might prompt them to, or the proffessional religionist might dictate. But they are all the time careful not to eschew or let go pleasures derivable from objects of senses. The Master cannot brook man retaining both in his hands. He tells them to feel attached to one of them--to be a party man, either wedded to this or that and not to both. He ad. monishes them to keep one and relinguish the other. Man persists from time immemorial that he should be allowed to retain both, Deluded creature are these ! They are on the look out for a guide who would reconcile both pursuits. Gentle reader ! see that your rame does not appear under this heading. And to avert that fate generate within yourself the Divine Discontent of the above description. Once this Discontent is genuinely felt, all the rest will evolve of itself, sooner or later. They are only pretenders and dabblers in religion whose thoughts have swayed beyond the confines of their material or mental sheaths and the objective phenomena be. fore them. Give up attachment for everything that is not your " Self” and then and then only will the Divine Pis. content grow upon you.
