________________ 11 BAH: SATT: 11 रत्नानामिव रोहणाक्षतिधरः खंतारकाणामिव, स्वर्गःकल्पमहीरुहामिव सरः पंकेरुहाणामिव, पाथोधिः पयसा मिवेंदुमहसां स्थानं गुणानामसा, वित्यालोच्य विरच्यतां भगवतः संघस्य पूजाविधिः ॥२१॥ અર્થ–રેહણાચળ પર્વત જેમ રત્નનું સ્થાન છે, આકાશ જેમ તારાઓનું સ્થાન છે, સ્વર્ગ જેમ કલ્પવૃક્ષોનું નિવાસસ્થાન છે, તળાવ જેમ કમળનું નિવાસસ્થાન છે, સમુદ્ર જેમ ચંદ્રમા સમાન નિર્મળ જળનું નિવાસસ્થાન છે, તેવી રીતે આ સાધુ, સાધ્વી, શ્રાવક, શ્રાવિકા રૂપ ચતુર્વિધ પૂજ્ય સંઘ જે જ્ઞાન, દર્શન અને ચારિત્રનું નિવાસસ્થાન છે તેની પૂજા કરીએ. Notwithstanding the unwillingness of old-fashioned Jains to depart from ☆ the antiquated practice of endowing charitable and religious institutions, and the over-zeal of new fashioned but half-informed Jains, it is a good sign of the times that ideas and theories, which at one time appeared absurd and fantastic, are slowly but surely being translated into action. The natural instinct of our people being commercial it is easy to understand that once they are convinced by facts and figures that by acting in a particular way they will confer more benefits on their fellow co-religionists than by following other ways, they will surely follow the first course rather than the other even that other be old and more - to their taste. Every body wishes that the institutions which he brings into being should last for ever and perpetuate the donor's name. But, unfortunately, few take care to search out the object and find out the way in which to lay out their money to bring about the desired end. Many build new temples at an enormous cast, many build Upashrayas, schools and other institutions but few, very few
