When the king of Mithila, was returning through this forest after thie Mālava-Magadha war, a gang of hunters attacked him and plandered all his fossessione. The leader of the gang entrusted the whole booty to me and pursued the king. As I was coming back after this, I saw a lady lying wounded and heard the cry of a baby nearby. On asking her she told me that while the king of Mithila was attacked she was separated from him, and while she was going about with his child she eaw an elephant and that she placed the child on its back in accordance with its own desire, tut that the child fell down from its back.
