In this way, besides 69 gāthās metrically correct in status quo, in 42 gathās, measure is adjusted by incorporting the corrections, which may be termed as minor.
There still ramain 29 gāthász", which may not be corrected, with the help of above said minor corrections and necessitate adjustments or corrections, which may be termed as major ones. For correcting these gathās, the study of parallels and counterparts, found elsewhere is of prime importance.
Out of above referred 29 gāthas, verse-form in some gāthās is adjusted by incorporating grammatical corrections in a word or two of the respective gāthās, in the light of their counterparts. For example
Vaikkama>Vaikkame (G.12) Suyasamadhipadimā> Suyasamadhipadimão(47) Dasamiu> Dasamito. (63), Satti Uggahanarn-> Sattio Gahaņam (80), Samcaiya Sarncaie (80), Pasatthā U> Pasatthās (80), Kāraņķo> Kārane (83), Duruttaga! > Duruttago (92) Khimsaņa ya> Khińsnā- him (98), Anuyatto ha> Anuyattihim (104) and Manussaṁ> Maņusse (131). Gāthās and their parallels are given in [App. A]
A few of the găthās become correct metrically, when a word or two are spelled in accordance with their counterparts. viz.
Cikkhala Cikkhalla (59), Apadikkamium Appadikkamium (80), Miggasīre> Maggasire (69) Jamgaddhe kovi Jamgadhheko vi (78), Sampāmavaho> Sampātivaho, Nehacheo > Nehachedu (89) Mangallar> Tu Mangalam (114), Akasāyaappaniae> Akasāyāppamãe (142). These găthās may be seen in [App. B]
In some gāthas certain words require substitution in accordance with their counterparts such as Gatavvar > Thâtavvam (63), Hoti Bhanito (69), Gatavvaṁ> Niggamaņaṁ (69), to adjust the metre.
In gāthā No. 54 and 58, two terms respectively Kāle and Māse' are missing. These two words occur in all the corresponding parallels of the gathas and are essential both from the point of view of verse
