Inspired as a response to the Los Angels riots of 1992, and created by a multiracial team, this project has brought together women from diverse religious, cultural, and economic backgrounds to provide inter-religious and cross-cultural training in the method of faith-based social analysis. The project's primary goals are to: promote cross-cultural understanding and healing by enabling women participants to be in dialogue across lines of religion, race, class, and educational achievement; help women explore both liberating and oppressive experiences in their respective religious traditions and spiritualities, train women in the skills of faith-based social analysis so as to understand the roots of injustice in church and society, particularly the interconnected roots of violence against women; empower women to claim their own spirituality and cultures as a source of action for change, and; work together on strategies to improve their lives and the lives of their children, families and communities Immaculate Heart College Center USA MultiFaithNet MultiFaith Net is a self-access internet resource for the study of world religions.
