One of the examples of Earth Day's world-wide network, is taking place in Chad, where the Ministry of Agriculture is raising awareness of Earth Day 2000 through a 6-month campaign of conferences, debates and announcements in local and regional media. The Ministry is currently appealing to its larger government for official recognition of Earth Day. Another inspiring example is taking place in Mexico, where 30,000 high school students will assemble to plant thousands of trees throughout their nation's capital. It allows people of all faiths to be ordained and serve as Interfaith ministers and to join a global interfaith ministry community. Seminarians learn about various spiritual and religious traditions. The Interfaith Youth Center is a sacred place for young people from all over the world to share music, art, spiritual practice and traditions, interfaith wisdom, and mutual respect. After visiting the Interfaith Youth Center, these honorable young people will return to their communities as gift bearers of a new way of life. The All Faiths Open Community is place where people from diverse backgrounds can share in an amazing variety of activities: meditations, chants, dances, and spiritual practices. The project is creating a new Interfaith way of worship and community. Imagine Interfaith Books illustrate understanding and cooperation between people of different faiths and ethnic backgrounds. The books that have been published range in content, but all have one consistent theme: religious and cultural harmony. Interfaith Seminary USA Education in Sustainability Hope for the Future San Domenico School - steeped in the Dominican tradition, the New Cosmology, and a vision of hope and sustainability for God's creation - is developing and integrating a curriculum of sustainability for preschool through grade 12. Faculty, staff, students, and parents work together to understand the critical relevance of responsible care for the earth, engaging in study and experiences directed to forming attitudes of respect for the earth and our interdependence as a human community with all of creation.
