Sakhaisizwe Trust Established in 1998, with support from religious groups across denominations and faiths, The Sakhaisizwe Trust's mission is to alleviate poverty and unemployment through SMME (small and medium sized enterprises) training and development. The Trust, as a black economic empowerment vehicle, has established an investment company, Zimunathi Investments, to manage its assets and engage corporate South Africa to leverage the stakeholder purchasing and distribution base of the Trust in doing empowerment deals which ensures real, broad based and grassroots empowerment to many thousands of deprive people. The Trust has embarked on an international roadshow to solicit investment and donor funds from essential bodies, corporate chairman funds, multinationals and wealthy individuals, with a target for 1999 of $100m. These funds are primarily invested in South African companies, with a view to maximize wealth and/or dividends for the Trust, which in turn are invested in proven poverty and SMME initiatives, driven by reputable NGO's. To date the Trust and its stakeholders have been instrumental in the training and empowerment of more than 125,000 entrepreneurs, with micro-loans to more than 50,000 Sakhaisizwe Trust REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA
