Kashi Los Angeles: Under the Bridges and on the Streets Project The West Coast arm of the Kashi Foundation sponsors several ongoing projects. First, they sponsor G 1. V. E. (Get Involved Volunteer Exchange), which directs volunteers to service organizations and care facilities within Southern California. They also support Under the Bridges and on the Streets, which distributes full meals and clothing directly to homeless people on the streets in and around Los Angeles. Nursing Training School The Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati Nursing Training Center, an initiative of the Global Hospital and Research Center at Mt. Abu, India, trains area youth to be nursing assistants. Vocational education, otherwise not available for many people, helps to ensure financial sustenance for poorer farnilies. In addition, trained nurses help staff outreach clinics in rural areas. Ongoing Humanitarian Service to Needy People Throughout the World The Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints will continue to provide equipment, educational materials, instruction, and service to needy people and communities in emerging countries through its humanitarian arm: Latter-Day Saint Charities. For example, from 1984 through 1998, the Church provided assistance valued in excess of $80 million (US) to countries on the continent of Africa alone. Over $30 million of that amount was contributed to countries in Southern Africa and East Africa: Angola, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Aid has consisted of clothing, food, water and sanitation facilities, medical supplies and equipment, immunizations, text books, school equipment and supplies, agriculture and irrigation projects, disaster relief, and other projects Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints USA

Clean Drinking Water Worldwide Clean Drinking Water Project is one of the projects organized by the World Ahlul Ul-Bayt Islamic League, The specialized organization, Water Aid Foundation Asia (WAFA) organizes its working groups and local volunteers to dig wells and put electrical or hand pumps on them to provide drinking water to people Every person in the area benefits from this service, as well as their animals and fields.
