Clayton Gardens Home for the Aged In 1965 the Aryan Benevolent Home Council was in desperate need of accommodations after being forced out of Cato Manor, and from the Salvation Army Building, to make way for animals. Fortunately, the ABHC was able to purchase the Clayton Gardens Home for the Aged from the Durban City Council. About one-third of the area was utilized for the elderly in need of full social care and the rest was available to senior citizens to live on their own in two room flats with other services provided. Deepankar Kenya Inter-College, India The Indian Buddhist Association of the USA has helped to create an all-women's college in rural India. Located in the Gaon Unar Pradesh of India, the school is dedicated to advancing self-esteem and empowering rural women through secondary education. Bhai Rambharos Home for Children In 1996, during, its 75th Anniversary of South African history, the ABH Children's Home was designated the Bhai Rambharos Home for Children. At present 108 children are being cared for in seven large cottages with all of the facilities for full development. The Glencoe Home for the Aged and Disabled The Glencoe Home for the Aged and Disabled came into being in 1990 through the purchase and renovation of a hotel. The hotel conversion provided facilities for the care of the Aged and Disabled persons. Later, a part of the center was converted to suit the needs of the frail. The Westsun Home for the Aged The Westsun Home for the Aged was built in response to elderly people who were not frail, physically handicapped or mentally ill, but needed assistance because of circumstances arising from their socio-economic as well as other factors. St. Anne's Homes St. Anne's Homes provides shelter, care, rehabilitation and empowerment services to pregnant, destitute and abused women with young children. St. Anne's has two short-term shelters for 27 families, a Second Stage House for mothers who have been rehabilitated and have found employment but cannot afford rent, and a day care facility. Hospital Services Mariannhill Convent provides a large hospital serving the surrounding area in South Africa. The hospital also provides a low-cost clinic for minor infirmities, as well as training and education about diseases which encourages people to live healthier lives.
