________________ work in collaboration with him. Pt. Premiji has been a source of inspiration to both of us; and his kind advice, now and then, has been of great advantage to us. It is Br. Jivarajaji's silent devotion for Jinavani and his consequent munificence in the cause of Jaina Literature that enabled the editors to publish their work in the present form. They record their sense of gratitude to Brahmachariji and heartily thank the members of the Prabandha Samiti of the Sangha. It is due to the scarcity of paper that the second part may be delayed for some time. The editors, however, assure the readers that the major portion of the remaining part is ready for the press, and they are eager to finish the work at an early date. } A. N. Upadhye. Rajaram College, Kolhapur. 5th March 1943. iv PREFACE (Second Edition) That we are required to reprint the First Part of the Tiloyapannatti clearly shows how enthusiastically the publication of this great work is received by those interested in its subject matter. Now we will be able to meet the demand for the copies' of both the parts without any difficulty. This volume is just a reprint of the first edition. The major problems about the text, its Author etc., are fully discussed in the English and Hindi Introductions added to the Second Part of this work which is already out and available along with this. As this text of the Karananuyogs is so keenly welcomed, we are arranging to publish some more works of this category, namely, the Jambuddiva-pannatti, Lokavibhaga, Trailokyadipika etc. Thus many obscure details of this branch of Jaina Literature can be studied in comparison with other related works of Indian Literature. Special Thanks are due to Br. Jivaraj Gautamachandaji, the philanthropic founder of our Sangha: but for his steady attention and keen interest, this volume could not have been published so early as this. His devotion to Jina-vani is simply exemplary and therefore a source of inspiration for all of us working under hist guidance. It is regretted that diacritical points could not be used in the Preface for want of necessary types in the press. As usual, proofs of this volume were seen by Dr. A. N. Upadhye, Kolhapur, one of the Editors; and Pt. Jinadasaji helped us to speed up the printing by reading the Hindi proofs on the spot. Sholapur 26-1-56 Jain Education International W. D.
