________________ IIS CHAPTER IV मोत्त्णणिच्छयट्ठ ववहारे ण विदुसा पवट्ठति । परमट्ठमस्सिदाण दु जदीण कम्मक्खओ विहिओ ॥१५६॥ Mottuna nichchayattam vavahāre na vidusa pavatthantı Paramattamassi dānam du jadina kammakkhavo vihivo (156) मुक्त्वा निश्चयार्थ व्यवहारे, न विद्वास प्रवर्तन्ते । परमार्थमाश्रिताना तु यतीना कर्मक्षयो विहित ॥१५६॥ 156 Since it is declared that destruction of karmas is possible only to those yatıs who adopt the absolute point of view, the wise ones will not walk through (vyavaharamarga) the practical path leaving aside the (nischya marga) absolute one COMMENTARY When there are two courses of action open to a person, the superior and the inferior, the wise will always choose the superior one Next it is pointed out how this path to salvation is obstructed by the operation of evil karmic conditions such as mithyātva or wrong belief, etc वत्थस्स सेदभावो जह णासेदि मलविमेलणाच्छण्णो ।' । मिच्छत्तमलोच्छण्ण तह सम्मत्त खु णादव्व ।।१५७॥ Vatthassa sedabhāvo jaha nāsedı malavimelanāchchanno Michchattamalochchannam taha sammattam khu nādavvam (157) वस्त्रस्य श्वेतभावो यथा नश्यति मलविमेलनाच्छन्न । मिथ्यात्वमलावछन्न तथा च सम्यक्त्व खलु ज्ञातव्यम् ॥१५७॥ वत्थस्स सेदभावो जह णासेदि मलविमेलणाच्छण्णो। अण्णाणमलोच्छण्ण तह णाण होदि णादव्व ॥१५८।। Vatthassa sedabhavo jaha nāsedi malavimelanachchanno Annanamalochchannam taha nānam hodi nādavvam (158) वस्त्रस्य श्वेतभावो यथा नश्यति मलविमेलनाच्छन्न । अज्ञानमलावच्छन तथा ज्ञान भवति ज्ञातव्यम् ॥१५८॥ वत्थस्स सेदभावो जह णासेदि मलविमेलणाच्छण्णो। तह दु कसायाच्छण्ण चारित्त होदि णादव्व ॥१५९॥ 'मलविमेलणासत्तो।
