________________ 105 CHAPTER VILL दु खितसुखितान् सत्त्वान् करोमि यदेवमध्यवसित ते । तत्पापबन्धक वा पुण्यस्य वा बन्धक भवति ॥२६०॥ 260 "I make other beings miserable or happy.” This thought of thine causes karmic bondage of the nature of vice or virtue मारेमि जीवावेमि 2 सत्ते ज एवमझवसिद ते । त पावबधग वा पुण्णस्स व बधग होदि ॥२६॥ Māremi jīvāvemiya satte jam eya majhavasidam te Tam pāvabandhagam va punnassa va bandhagam hodi (261) मारयामि जीवयामि च सत्त्वान् यदेवमध्यवसित ते । तत्पापबन्धक वा पुण्यस्य वा बन्धक भवति ॥२६॥ 261 "I kill other beings or I make them live" This thought of thinc causes karmic bondage of the nature of vice or virtue Next it is pointed out that the thought to kill is the same as killing अभवसिदेण बधो सत्ते मारेउ मा व मारेउ । ___ एसो बधसमासो जीवाण णिच्छयणयस्स ॥२६२।। Ajhavasıdena bandho satte mātevu māva mātevu Eso bandhasamāso jīvānam nichchhyanayassa (262) अध्यवसितेन बन्ध सत्त्वान् मारयतु मा वा मारयतु । एष बन्धसमासो जीवाना निश्चयनयस्य ॥२६२।। 262 The will to kill is enough to bring bondage irrcspcctive of the fact whether animals are killed 01 are not killed From the real point of vicw this in short is the mode of bondage in the case of fivas (or crmpirical sclves) Again the author points out how thought is the cause of bondage and of papa 01 punya, vicc or viluc एवमलिये अदत्ते अबह्मचेरे परिगहे चेव । कीरइ' अज्झवसाण ज तेण दु बज्झए पाव ॥२६३।। Evamalıye adatte abanıhachare pariggahe cheva Kīrayı ajjhavasānam jam tena du vajjhaye pāvam (263) एवमलीकेऽदत्तेऽब्रह्मचर्ये परिग्रहे चैव । क्रियतेऽध्यवसान यत्तेन तु बध्यते पापम् ॥२६३।। 263 Thus (the will to kill), the will to lie, to steal, to be
