________________ 208 SAMAYS.ARA केहि चिदु पज्जयहि विणस्सए णेव केहि चिदु जीवो। जम्हा तम्हा कुव्वइ सो वा अण्णो व णेयतो ॥३४५।। Kehim chidu pajjayehim vinassaye neva kehim chidu jīvo Jamhā tamhā kuvvayı so vā anno va neyanto (345) कैश्चित्तु पर्यायैर्विनश्यति नैव कैश्चित्तु जीव ।। यस्मात्तस्मात्करोति स वा अन्यो वा नैकान्त ॥३४५॥ 345 From some point of view (paryāyārthika nayu) the soul dies, but from an other point of view (dravyārthika nay, the soul never dies Because of this nitya-anitya nature of the soul, the one-sided view that the soul (that enjoys) is the same as the doer or entirely different from this would be untenable केहिचिदु पज्जयेहि विणस्सए णेव केहिचिदु जीवो । जम्हा तम्हा वेददि सो वा अण्णो व णेयतो ॥३४६॥ Kehim chidu pajjayehion vinassaye neva kehimchidu jīvo Jamhā tamhā vedadı sovā anno va neyanto (346) कैश्चित्तु पर्यायैर्विनश्यति नैव कैश्चित्तु जीव । यस्मात्तस्माद्वेदयति स वा अन्यो वा नैकान्त ॥३४६॥ 346 From some point of view (paryāyārthika naya) the soul dies, but from an other point of view (dravyārthika naya) the soul never dies Because of this mtya-amtya nature of the soul, the onesided view that the soul (that acts) is the same as the enjoyer (of the fruits thereof) or entirely different from him would be untenable जो चेव कुणइ सोचेवय ण वेयए जस्स एस सिद्धतो। सो जीवो णायव्वो मिच्छादिट्ठी अणारिहदो ॥३४७॥ Jo cheva kunayı so chiya na veyaye jassa esa siddhanto So jīvo nāyavvo michchhaditlhi anarıhado' (347) यश्चैव करोति स चैव न वेदयते यस्य एष सिद्धान्त । स जीवो ज्ञातव्यो मिथ्यादृष्टिरनार्हत ॥३४७॥ 347 Let it be known that the person who holds the doctrine that the soul that acts is absolutely identical with the soul that enjoys (the fruits thereof) is a wrong believer and is not of the Athata faith
