________________ causes the building of a body to itself out of the suitable particles in the environment When once the building up of the body is completed, then begins the career of the empirical Self of samsāra giva having a series of births and deaths जाएस पयडियट्ठ चेया व विमुचइ । अयाणओ हवे ताव मिच्छादिट्ठी असजओ ॥३१४॥ Jayesu payadhiyattam chye neva vimunchayı Ayānavo have tāvam michchhaditthi asañja vo (314) __ यावदेष प्रकृत्यर्थ चेतयिता नैव विमुञ्चति । अज्ञायको भवेत्तावन्मिथ्यादृष्टिरसयत ॥३१४।। 314 So long as the conscious Self does not break this relation to karmic prakriti, he remains without enlightenment, without 1ight belief and without discipline जया विमुचइ चेया कम्मप्फलमणतय । तया विमुत्तो हवइ जाणओ पासओ मुणी ॥३१५।। Jayā vimuñchayi cheyā kamma phala nianantayam Tayā vimutto havayı jānavo pāsavo munī यदा विमुञ्चति चेतयिता कर्मफलमनन्तकम् । तदा विमुक्तो भवति ज्ञायको दर्शको मुनि ॥३१५॥ 315 But when the conscious Self breaks up this relation to the infinitely various fruits of karma, then the saint becomes endowed with right knowledge and right belief and freedom from karmas But the enlightened one, when the fruits of Karma begin to appear, does not enjoy them but remains merely a spectatot Next it is pointed out that just as the real Self is not the producer of karmas, he is not the enjoyer of the fruits thercof अण्णाणी कम्मफल पयडिसहावट्टिओ दु वेदेइ । णाणी पुण कम्मफल जाणइ उदिद ण वेदेइ ॥३१६॥ Annāns kammaphalam payadhisahāvatthivo du vedeyi Nani puna kammaphalam janayi udidam na. vedey1 (316) अज्ञानी कर्मफल प्रकृतिस्वभावस्थितस्तु वेदयते । ज्ञानी पुन कर्मफल जानाति उदित न वेदयते ॥३१६॥ 316 The unenlightened Self condiuoned by and identifying (315)
