इस 'य' श्रुति में लागू होता है जो एक स्वाभाविक नियम है जिसके लिए व्याकरणकारों का अनुमोदन हो या न हो, परन्तु सभी जैनेतर प्राकृत संस्करणों में 'य' श्रति का नहीं मिलना वास्तविकता के अनुरूप नहीं है ।

He says that something like 'Ya Sruti' is noticed by Pāṇini in one of his sūtras. He further surmises---The above survey shows that "Ya' śruti is a natural and logical consequence in language and in Prakrit this is reflected after the elision of some intervocalic consonants--'vide his article : 'Ya-sruti in Prakrit' published in the Jain Journal Calcutta, Vol. XXVI, No. 3, Jan. 1992, pp. 166 and 168.
