THE JAIN LOGIC AND THE "NAYAS."

Other lines of Logical or Ontological InquiryAnalysis and Synthesis--the Nayas and the Saptabhangi - the two kinds of Naya-- (i) the Noumenal and (ii) the Phenomenal-Consideration of the Ten Subdivisions of the Noumenal Naya or the Analytic Method of Inquiry into the Ontology of Thought and Form.
In the forgoing discussion on the means Importance of knowledge, we have seen how the Formal and function of the Naya Logic of the Jain philosophers differs from Saptabhangi the systems of Logic belonging to other
schools of thought and culture. But what we have stated in brief is not all that we know of the Jain Logic. In addition to this, it has other means of logical enquiry into the ontology of things identifying thereby logic with ontology which is of vital importance to deal with in the correct estimation of thought, form and being-a general conception of which is only attained by sense perception and the like ordinary means of knowledge.
