But as the causes and conditions which determine and make up the personality and individuality by means of which a particular jiva is singled out from amongst the many, are of various kinds. The sages have thought it wise, therefore, to classify these karmas into two main divisions (a) Pinda-Prakriti (b) Prateyka Prakriti.
