But it is not so in the case of the other two, namely, the transformable and translocation bodies."1 The taijasa and kārmaņa śariras (bodies) are of beginning less association.2 “The association is beginningless as well as with a beginning. From the point of view of the series of cause and effect, the association is beginningless. From the particular point of view, it is also with a beginning as in the case of the seed and the plant. The gross, transformable and translocation bodies are associated with Soul at some time or other. But the luminous and karmic bodies are not so, on the other hand, these two are associated with Soul till the attainment of liberation."3 These two bodies are possessed by all the transmigratory souls.4 Some Ācāryas5 maintain from the stand-point of Nayavāda (consideration of one aspect of a thing) that there is a beginningless relation of the worldly souls with kārmanaśarīra only, but not with the taijasaśarira, because of its production from labdhi (mental faculty) commencing with the luminous and karmic bodies, upto four bodies can be had simultaneously by a single soul. The karmic body is not the means of enjoyment.? The gross body is of uterine birth and spontaneous generation.8 The transformable body originates by birth in aupapāda) (heavenly special birth-beds); attainment is also the cause of its origin. 10 The luminous body 1.
