I have read the publisher's letter. At present I am pot prepared to say that the Authors have a deliberate intention to insult or injure the Jains or their religion. But, I fear that having written what they have written and having got it published, they want to defend even what they would not have written,if they knew Jainism and the susceptibilities of Jains better.
On the whole, their position is that their book is meant for small school boys, and therefore points of historical and philosophical controversy cannot be discussed in it as being beyond the mental range of the boys.
