प्राकृतसर्वखम् । आसो आसं । बाहुल्यात् दुलह,- 'दरपुरिसाइरि विसमिरि जाणसु पुरिसाण जं दुक्खं' [ = दरपुरुषायिते विश्रामशीले जानीहि पुरुषाणां यद् दुःखम् , GS. I. 52 ] इति सप्तशती ॥
गुण इतः क्वापि । स्यात् । गणेसरो, चंदोदओ, पिओवगमणं, इत्यादौ नित्यम् । वेग्गो, विअग्गो । वेंजणं, विअंजणं, इत्यादौ विकल्पः । अविएत्थ, तुहत्ति, अहरुटुं, इत्यादौ नित्यम् ॥ ४. ५. विंशत्यादौ बिन्दोलृक् तेर्वा दीर्घता चादेः । विंशत्यादौ बिन्दोलृक् स्यात् , तेलृक् वा स्यात् , आदेश्च दीर्घता स्यात् । वीसा, वीसई । तीसा । तेत्तीसा । तेवीसा, तेवीसई ।- ' आदीतौ बहुलम्' ( PS. V. 30 ) इत्यात् ॥ ४. ६. ओत्वं लुक् च विसर्गस्य क्वचिदोत्वं कचिद् लुक् च स्यात् । सरोरुहं, सररुहं । मणोहरो, मणहरो। कचिल्लुगेव । सरवरो । णहअलं । उरअडं । णिराउसा, णिरणुक्कोसो, णिरं

In fact the exs. given here by Mss. as well as by B are as follows:-BUIO अविएत्थ, तुअइ, अहरोहें; A om.; G अपिवत्थ, तुअइ, अहसेट्ट. The Sü. in question is a contro. versial one. Mk enjoins gai, but includes side by side 3 also as is evident from the ex. चंदोदओ and पिओवगमणं. Rt. resorts to s alone (cf. PK I. 5. 3- परेण पूर्वेण च सार्धमाहुरिको गुणं कापि पदेषु धीराः'). The reading 'इकः' of A is in accord with the Sü. of Rt. just quoted. The last three exs, however, have no direct bearing on the present Sū. of Mk. The word तुअर (= Skt. तुदति) is evidently a scribal error and the form अहरोई is not allowed in Pkt (cf. He. I, 84). Hence I have emended the text as above ( also cf. Candrikā of Dikşita on Vr. IV. 1). What Mk means to say is that in case of spaging the retension of v is obligatory, while in case of Tate the elision of is obligatory, and in case of 375 g absence of guna is obligatory. Here it is to be noted that the ex. ate as being obligatory according to the present Sū. contradicts the use of optional form za3c3 as given in Sū. 1 in this Pāda by Mk.
