III.] In the Sanskratised form “vidrāna-” occurs several times in Up. K. of Siddharşi. Here the editor Peterson gives, 'embarrassed, perplexed' as the meaning in various contexts. In all the occurrences the word is used compounded with vadana- and can be rendered with 'dejected face', or 'sorrowful face. It is equivalent to Sk. expression “mlana-vadana". Sk. vidrāņa- 'roused from sleep, awakened' is different from this
