(नूनं) विपरीता बुद्धिः भवति विनाशस्य काले ॥ “O mother, I regret (so much) 1 offended my darling at eventide. (Indeed), one loses one's sense when doom approached near."
Cf. Pischel : “O mother, I feel repentence for having quarrelled in the evening with the beloved one. The mind is perverse at the time of ruin.” 1
