________________ Ātmānuśāsana चक्रं विहाय निजदक्षिणबाहुसंस्थ यत्प्राव्रजन्ननु तदैव स तेन मुञ्चेत् । क्लेशं तमाप किल बाहुबली चिराय मानो मनागपि हतिं महतीं करोति ॥ २९७॥ अर्थ अपनी दाहिनी भुजा के ऊपर स्थित चक्र को छोड़कर जिस समय बाहुबली ने दीक्षा ग्रहण की थी उसी समय उन्हें उस तप के द्वारा मुक्त हो जाना चाहिये था। परन्तु वे चिरकाल तक उस क्लेश को प्राप्त हुए। ठीक है - थोड़ा सा भी मान बड़ी भारी हानि को करता है । - आत्मानुशासन Soon after Bahubali took to asceticism, after abandoning the divine spinning-wheel (cakra) that had descended on his right arm, he should have attained liberation due to his austerities (tapa). But he remained troubled for a long time. It is right; even slightest pride results in great harm.
