किनिमित्तमनिमित्तमेवोज्झितविषयसङ्गा सङ्गता च स्वेन परिजनेन निर्गता गेहात् ? केन हेतुना नात्यक्तसर्वाभरणापि प्रकृतितरलमुक्त मुक्तिशास्त्रमिव धारयति हार कण्ठेन ? कथय, महात्मन् ! महत्कुतूहल मे । न क्वचिद दृष्टमिदमाश्चर्यम्' ।

वर्जयति, After this, the words 'दासोऽपि' etc., in line 11 on page 406 continue the text further.
This whole passage is missing in the TM(N). We donot know whether the editors of the TM(P) know about it or not, as the portion of the text in which this lacuna occurs has not been published by them as yet. (4) There is a serious displacement, though not omission, of the following passage :
__ परां कोटिमारूढा स्वामिभावस्य, सर्वदा सत्त्वे स्थिताऽसत्यनिमुक्ता,
स्वप्नेऽप्यजातस्वैरिणीसङ्गा, निरपत्या सततमुत्सङ्गेन लालिता पत्या, which is printed in the TM(N) after the verse beginning with the words आदयश्रोणि' etc.; and it is found in the P Ms., too. In the TM(N), the reading is 'परमां forg
qai'. This verse has been correctly inserted as a prose passage after the phrase 'वैदग्ध्य धातुवादिकस्य' on p.82, line 6 onwards in the TM(P).
III. Textual Corruptions and Their Sources (A) In the TM(N):
Most of the textual corruptions in the TM(N)-2nd Edn.-are the result of the lack of discrimination on the part of the editors, since they could not distinguish between the original text proper from the marginal textual additions and explanatory notes in the Ms. utilised by them for the purpose. The mistakes and misprints resulting from wrongly incorporating the marginal explanatory notes in the Ms. as a part of the text proper would, if counted, run into hundreds, making it almost impossible to list them exhaustively by way of an appendix. A few remarkable specimens are. therefore, given below to draw the attention of scholars to this strange process responsible for the corruption of the text of the TM(N):
