Out of these references I have been able to actually consult the following Mss. :
-
1. The Jesalmer Ms. the (J Ms.): This Ms. has been noticed by Shri Mohanlal Dalichand Desai who informs us that it belonged to V. Sam. 1130 (i.e. about 1074 A.D.) and that it has been written on palm-leaf folios. This has been confirmed by Muni Shri Punyavijayaji,5 in whose actual possession it was then in Ahmedabad. It was in utterly wretched condition almost in one to three inch pieces-that, inspite of its being the oldest Ms. probably written during the life-time of the poet himself 1. These Mss. have facilitated the task of compiling the critical text in this edition of the TM. 2. JRK, pp. 159-160.
