It informs us that this Ms. dated V. Sam. 1255 was utilized by Muni Merunandana for studying the TM under Muni Jnanakalasa in the same place, i.e. Mewad (or is it Jesalmer ?), in the year V. Sam. 1431 (i.e. about 1375 A.D.) and this addi tional entry in the Ms. was made in that year on the full-moon day of the month of Magha.
Though the size of the folios is generally 74.5 x 5.8 Cms., it varies with individual folios both in length as well as in breadth the shortest being 67 Cms. in length and 4 Cms. in breadth. Each page is divided into three parts with the two intervening margins of about 2.5 Cms. each. The margins on the right and the left of the pagesi.e. side A and B of the folios-measure about 3 Cms. each on either side. The written portion generally measures about 21 Cms., 19 Cms., and 22.5 Cms., in these three parts respectively, and each part is marked out with trebled border lines. The number of lines on each page vary from 4 to 7. Normally there are about 49, 45 and 54 letters in the respective parts. There are to wholes in the middle of the middle margins for passing a thread for the purpose of tying the leaves together. It is written in black ink, and there are no red markings. There are corrections and additions made by the scribe, as also corrections of the text and additions of explanatory notes by somebody else, noted above the uppermost line or below the lowermost line. The corrections and additions are indicated by a cross (x) sign and the explanatory notes by a sign of 'equal to' (=). Both can be marked out distinctly on the basis of calligraphic peculiarities. On a few pages-about a dozen or so-there are a few pores bored by white ants in the written portion, but on the whole the Ms. is well preserved, and has survived, in excellent condition. In the case of a couple of folios the broken part is reparied by means of paper strips. Only folio No. 1 is broken, and the portion is lost, but a duplicate there of in the handwritings of the very same scribe is in tact.
As regards the marginal notes and corrections in this Ms., the latter seem to have been made by the scribe himself as is clear from the fact that almost all of the corrections have been known to Santyacarya the author of the Tippanaka commentary, while the former-marginal notes-on the one hand, and the variant readings
