This commentary of Madhukar Muni not only shows a direction Fut also creates an academic problem. The concept of Guņavrata and Sikşāvrata are described in the Aupapātikasūtra, but Munishri has mentioned only Śikṣāvrata in his Hindi commentery of the Upāsakadaśānga. Though earlier he used the reading of the Aupapātikasūtra in the Upăsakadaśārga in such a manner, that it looks like an original reading of the Upāsakadaśānga, but the concept of Gunavrata is not so old and that fact has been supported in his Hindi commentary of the Upāsakadaśānga. To eliminate this problem we can see below that reading of the Aupapātikasūtra too : अगारधम्म दुवालसविहं आइक्खइ, तं जहा - १ पंच अणुव्वाइं, २. तिण्णि que , 3. Elif furac415 I Ver tudoclus H FED ....... I fafour गुणव्वयाई, तं जहा ६. अणत्थदंडवेरमणं, ७. दिसिव्वयं, ८. उवभोगपरिमाणं चत्तारि सिक्खावयाइं तं जहा - ९. सामाइयं, १०. देसावयासियं, ११. पोसहोववासे, 87. Baffle fait...... ! 371018 3RET 495 is The above mentioned reading of the Aupapātikasūtra is reconciled with that reading used by Madhukar Muni and Ghasilaljky in their editions of the Upāsakadaśāngalo.. Acārya Tulsi has mentioned the name of the Aupapātika sutra in the foot note of the Upāsakadaśänga. Ofcourse, Acārya Tulsi has accepted the modern Research Methodology but Madhukar Muni and Ghasilalji belive in traditional methods. There is a tradition that a reading or verse may be interpolated in any Āgama, if that reading or verse possess the word 'Jāva'. This traditional methods for addition or completion of a reading is widely accepted by the editors of the Āgamas. Hence, Muni Madhukarji and Gahsilalji both have used this methodology in their editions of the Upāsakadasānga and completed the reading.
