... YTHIT GTA e -chael... 1 On the basis of the above discussion we can conclude that Gunavrata is not described in the Upāsakadaśānga. If some editions of this text mention the concept of Guņavrata, we should understand that this is borrowed from other sources. Gunavrata is a later and developed concept and it is mentioned in the Upānga Āgama - the Aupapātika. The reading of the Upāsakadaśānga which mentions this concept is borrowed from this Upānga. Upānga is an appendix of the Anga Āgama and this fact has been proved. Normally the facts cited in Upāngasūtra are new in comparsion to the fact , described in the Anga Āgama, the concept of Guņavrata is mentioned in the Aupapātikasūtra not in the Upāsakadašānga. Hence, it is a new and developed concept and not cited in the original verse of the Upāsakadaśanga.
