1. See the following gatha occurring in the Santināthacarita :
वंदामि भहबाहुँ जेण य अइरसियं बहुकलाकलियं ।
रइयं सवायलक्खं चरियं वसुदेवरायस्स ।। Peterson's Report in Search of Sanskrit Manuscripts; No 5; p. 73. 2. See the following sentence occurring in the begining of the central part of Vasudevakindi:
तत्वं च किंचि सुयनिवद्ध किंचि आयरियपरंपरेण । शगयं ततो अवधारित मे ।
Peterson's Third Report, p: 199. 3. The reference to these stories is found in the following lines of Patanjali's Vyakaranamahābhâsya (IV, 3,872):
वासवदत्तामधिकृत्य कृताऽऽख्यायिका वासवदत्ता सुमनोत्तरा, अशी । न च भवति मैमरवी ।
4. The reference to this name is found in Jaina works such as Vasudevahindi, etc. 5. A similar reference is found in the introductory Sloka of Merutunga's Prabandhacintamani:
भृशं श्रुतत्वान्न कथा: पुराणा: प्रीणन्ति चेतांसि तथा बुधानाम् ।

सोउण लोइयाणं.....गरवाहनदत्तादीणं कहाओ कामियाओ लोगो एगंतेणं कामकहासु रज्जति सोग्गइपहदेसियं पुण धम्म सोऽपि नेच्छति य जरपित्तवसडडुयमुहो इव गुलसक्करखंडमच्छंडियाइसु विपरीतपरिणामो । धम्मस्थकामकलियाणि य सुहाणि धम्मत्वकामाण च मूलं धम्मो; तम्मि च मंदतरो जणो । तं जह गाम कोई बेज्जो आउरं अमयसहपाणपरंमुहं बोसढमिति उम्विययं मणोभिलसियपाणवधएसेण उसहं त पज्जति कामकहारतहितयस्स जणस्स सिंगारकहावसेण धम्म चेव परिकहेमि ।
