________________ Ganapala and His Jambucariyam 119 On the reverses of the left hand half of this folio the following broken lines are found : पफि १ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ।। पंक्ति ३ संवत् १२०८ वषे अद्येह श्रीमदणहिलपाटके श्रीभीमदेवराज्ये प्रवर्तमाने * Gunapala's authorship of the Risidattācariyaṁ becomes immediately known from these mutilated lines even of this palm-leaf Manuscript of which the opening and the closing portion especially are in a fragmentary condition as noticed above. References to Virabhadrasuri and Nailagaccha are also found there. In addition to this, there is also a reference to a city named Haiyapura where, during the stay in monsoon, this Risidattācari yam was composed, This makes this inference possible that the mention of the data of the composition also must have been there in the mutilated portion of the Manuscript because this was almost always the practice with the Jaina writers of this age as will be seen from the fact that Udyotana süri in his Kuvalayamalakaihā, Siddharşi in his Upamitibhavaprapancakatha and Jayasimhasūri in his Dharmopadeśamälāk athasangraha * On the last folio of this palm-leaf Manurcript, there is a panegyric of ten stanzas in Sanskrit giving details of the family etc. of that man who gave money to have this palmleaf Manuscript of the Risidattacari yam written. This panegyric, which also is in a mutilated condition because half of the right-hand portion of this last folio is in a fragmentary condition, runs as under : पंक्ति १ A . . . . . प्राग्वाटवंशमाणिक्य पंक्ति २ A . . . . . . . पंक्ति ३ A . . . . . ।३।। . पंक्ति A . . . . ।९।। पंक्ति ४ B . . . . .. .॥ A Jain lady named Mohini who was the daughter of Rāvani by his wife Bastini belonging to the Pragvăț community of the Jainas had got this copy made at the instructions of Nemicandrasuri in order to inake good use of her money. This is the substance of a'l the ten stanzas comprising the Panegyric. It is also added there that this copy was got made in the year 1288 of the Vikrama era at Apahilpur Patan when Bhimadeva ruled over it.
