A villain who is pleased at one moment and displeased at another and cuts the vital parts in an instant, is, like a bad wife, always to be abandoned. 8. One can understand the (working of) wild elephents, snakes, lion and tigers, but one cannot understand the villian's heart engaged in finding out the weak points (in others). 9. The intelligent people can know the quantity of the waters of the ocean, the dimension of the mountain Meru and the nature of the people of the whole world even. But they cannot comprehend the heart of the villain. (1; 8-12). Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
