244 EPIGRAPHIA INDICA
(Vol. XXVII Chālukyas, the inveterate enemies of the Pallavas. The Baņa king, who ruled from Påmbuliggi, may have been a successor of Vikramaditya Bali Indra Banarāja, son of Balikulatilaka Narasimha Bāņādhiraja, who figures in the inscription of the 23rd year of Vijayāditya Chalukya at Kondupalli noted above. The Cholamahärāja referred to in the record was evidently the king of the record, Vijayādistya)-Chöļa. Pämbuliggi from where the Bana is stated to be ruling, may be identified with Håvalige in the Gooty taluk, Anantapur District. An inscription of the time of Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI found at this placel gives Hambulige as its name, evidently a later from of Pärbu liggi occurring in our record. .
