________________ Anekanta and Interculturality - Samani Dr. Chaitya Prajna When the angel of truth moved to the earth, all the faiths and culture wanted to posses it. Subsequently it was divided into many parts resulting in parts of truth as a possession of each faith or a culture. Thus there remain differences between cultures, but differences have produced such a deep exclusive outlook between the cultures that it leads to clashes between themselves. The doctrine of anekanta can open the doors of inclusive philosophy out through the faultlines of different cultures and make interculturality possible. The Present essay is a honest endevior to discuss the role of anekanta in promotion of interculturality and religious harmony. The essay is divided into three sections; A, B and C. In part-A, I have discussed the problem of relgio-cultural conflict and its causes in terms Huntington, and Part-B explains about what basically interculturality is ? and how it can solve cultural conflict? and the third and the last section C is dedicated to the role that anekanta can play propagate interculturality. PART-A Conflict arises in the presence of 'Other'. There can be of three types of the 'Other'-in- the context of religion and culture. firstly, the other of religion, secondly, the other-in-religoin and lastly, the religious-other. The other-of-religion or culture refers to the science and scientific development, which seems contaray to the religion having basic opposition related to faith.
