(26) In Udana Attha-katha, 8/5, Buddhaghosa gives the following explanation of 'sukara-maddava'.
nati-tarunassa natijiņņassa eka jetthakasukarassa pavatta mamsam.
Some 'non-meat' explanations of the word have been given. But Anguttara Nikaya (Pancaka Nipāta) gives support to Buddha's being a meat-eater. We have it that at the request of Grahapati Ugga, he took pig
meat.
