xxi પ્રાકૃત અને અર્વાચીન પ્રાકૃતમાં ઘણીવાર શબ્દ પ્રયોગોની બાબતમાં સમવિષમતા જોવામાં આવે છે (પૃઇ ૫).
આ પાઠભેદો સ્વાભાવિક રીતે જ થઈ ગયા નથી. પરંતુ પાછળના આચાર્યોએ જાણીબુઝીને પણ આ શબ્દ-પ્રયોગોને સમયે સમયે બદલી નાખ્યા છે; અથવા પ્રાચીન પ્રાકૃત ભાષાના પ્રયોગો સાથેનો સંપર્ક ઓછો થવાને લીધે
જ્યારે મુનિવર્ગ સહેલાઈથી તે તે શબ્દ-પ્રયોગોના મૂળને સમજી શકતા ન હોવાથી શ્રીઅભયદેવાચાર્ય, શ્રી મલયગિરિ આચાર્ય વગેરેને તે તે શબ્દપ્રયોગો બદલી નાખવાની આવશ્યકતા જણાઈ અને તેમણે તે તે શબ્દ-યોગોને
अनेक बार शब्द-प्रयोगों के विषय में सम-विषमता देखने को गिलती है।
ये पाठ-भेद स्वाभाविक रूप से ही नहीं हुए हैं, परंतु बाद के आचार्यों ने जानबुझकर ही इन शब्द-प्रयोगों को समय समय पर बदल डाला है; अथवा प्राचीन प्राकृत भाषा के प्रयोगों के साथ का संपर्क कम हो जाने के कारण जब मुनिवर्ग सरलता से उन उन शब्द-प्रयोगों के मूत को नहीं समझ सके तब श्री अभयदेवाचार्य, श्री मलयगिरि आचार्य, इत्यादि को उन उन शब्द-प्रयोगों को बदलने की आवश्यकता प्रतीत हुई और उन्होंने उन उन शब्दप्रयोगों को बदल भी दिया हैं । ऐसा करने से ग्रंथ का विषय समझने
