Para-Brahman has been mentioned as its presiding deity. No early work on Alamkaraśāstra which would be regarded as standard and well-known makes any reference to Para-Brahman as its presiding deity. Dr. Raghavan states that "the Alankarasarvasva of Harṣopā. dhyaya (?), written for one Gopaladeva, makes the supreme spirit, Para-Brahman,as the Devata of Santa 36. We, however, do not know the exact date of this work which would have enabled us to determine the interrelation between these two works. Alamkarasangraha of Amṛtānandayogin speaks of Para-Brahman as the presiding deity of Santa-rasa. There is a close agreement between ŚC of Vijayavarni and Alaṁkārasamgraha of Amṛtānandayogin in their treatment of some common topics from poetics 37. The dates of these two works as proposed by scholars 38 do not, however, permit us
