________________ Shri Mahavir Jain Aradhana Kendra www.kobatirth.orgAcharya Shri Kailassagarsuri Gyanmandir INTRODUCTION In Chapter III the au hor deals with Rasa and Bhava and their divisions, He treats of nine Sthayibhavas, nine Rasas, Vibhavas (Alambana and Uddipana), Anubhavas, eight Sattvika-bhāvas and thirty three Vya bhicari (Sañcari) bhāvas, and such details about Rasas as the primary and the derivative Rasas, ( their inter relations), their harmonies and conflicts, their colours (Varna) and their presiding deities (Adhidevatā). He clearly acknowledges his indebtedness to ancient or earlier authorities on the subject33. In his celebrated commentary35 on Natyasastra Abhinavagupta writes: From this statement it is clear that the author had not Abhinava-bharati before him but some other text where 33. 34.
