The soul purified by meditating on those reflections is compared to a ship in water, like a ship reaching the shore he gets beyond misery. The four Bhāvanās maitri, pramoda, kārunya and mādhyasthya are essential part of Bhāvanāyoga. The two auspicious meditations Dharma and Sukla also have four Bhāvanās each. For safeguarding the five great vows five Bhāvanās have been prescribed for each. For the purity of conduct the practice of Adhyātmayoga being essential an aspirant is instructed time and again to be engrossed in Adhyātmayoga.
