________________ ( 61 ) ॥ क्षण उत्सवे ॥ १६ । १ । क्षण शव्दे उत्सवाभिधायिनि मयुक्तस्य छो भवति । When the word kshana denotes festival chh is substituted for ksh. But when it denotes a moment the substitution does not take place ; as खणो। ॥ का मोः पः ॥ १७ । २ । का मोः पो भवति । The cunjucts kom and the change into P, as रुप्पं (रुका); रुपिपणी (रुकिानी); कुप्पलं (कुमल); कचित् चमापि in some instances 'चम' is also substituted for कम as सचमी (एक्मी ); ॥षक, स्कयो नाम्नि खः ।। १८ । अनयो नाम्नि संज्ञायां खो भवति । Kh is substituted for shk or sk in a substantive; as धक-पोक्खरं, (पुष्करं); पोक्खरिणी, (पुष्करिणी); निक्खं (निष्क); स्क-खंधो (स्कन्धः); खंधावारः (स्कन्धावारः); नाम्नीति fati? when shk and sk occur in a verb or verbial adjective such substitution does not take place, as दुक्कर, (दुष्कर); निक्काम्मं, (निष्काम्य) ; सक्क (संस्कृत) ; ३ । १। शौरसेन्या क्षणशब्दे छत्वं न। In the sauraseni chh is never substituted for ksh in the word kshana. २। प्राकृत कल्पलतिकायां "का स्य च" इत्येवं सूबरपमस्ति According to Prkrita Kalpalatika the substitution of P is held for km only. । हेमचब्दमतेमागध्यां मंयोगे वर्तमानयोः सकार षकारयोः सो भवति तथाहि कस्कयोः स्क इति रुपं यस्य सृ इति रुपं। According to Hemchandra s is substituted for s and sh when they conjoined to another letter, in the ma'gadhi dialect. Thus the conjuncts shk and sk assume the form of sk and sht the form st. कल्पलतिकामते तत्रापि शकार एव According to kalpalatika the substitute is seven in these.instances. Aho ! Shrutgyanam
