The concept or education is very old. The momen it was conceived thai man is rational animal sources for education were discovered. Primitive Sources were nature, old legends ethics, Spiritual Sermons. Gurukul. As science developed the system was changed. Apart from moral education one must achieve materials knowledge also to preserve himself mentally and physically fit. Moral virtues are the means and not the end to achieve the goal.
When we think of education in 2002, a lot of changes are required With the existing School syllabi extra curricular projects should be evolved In this manner of education learning will be an enjoyable experience. There must not be stereo type of education. The school must create suitable work environment. A child's potentiality has to be tapped he should be kept abreast of latest technologies so that conventional methods of education are more interesting and meaningful. This will naturally lead towards polishing their hidden abilities and help in reducing examination stress and offer career counselling. Schools must take initiative. Emphasis should be on projects, organised tours to achieve pressure fire environment. The aim should be on how to learn ratter than what to learn. This will enable them to adjust to the mainstream of education. It is must to infuse in students keenness for art and culture and a strong environmental awareness along with regular curriculum.
Students usually spend ten to twelve years of their prime time of life in class rooms burdened with school syllabi homework and preparing for terminal exams, weekly tests. It is pity that they do not enjoy the process of education, through audio and visual methods, Which can provide a graphic memory to students.
To impart fair education the school must organise counseling, debates, seminars, exhibitions, conference, talks, etc. These activities enable students in choosing a

career- an extra ordinary one-which emerge from a most unique, sophisticated and advance academic and technical knowledge with total personality development leading to inner strength of both mind and soul because faith in moral virtues make a person a super human. Respect for riders. teachers;, society and faith in God are all concerned with moral virtues. Each one will become a success story. futures will be bright and life will have enormous joy and satisfaction. Then alone, he will lean towards humility. compassion, and understanding for others. This quality will maintain positive relationship with others. The teacher is not a fountain of wisdom as has been traditionally held but is a facilitator and guide of the modem era. For everybody learning should be exciting and fun. This also will insist each one to move on right track with open eyes and clear perception.

Dream has come into the reality
Ten years ago Shree Jain Vidyalaya, Howrah was a dream project. When the site was visited some of us had reservations because of location and approach. Today the dream has come into the reality much more than expectations. The six-storey construction with a lot of open space and large approach has give the school a distinctive place in Howrah. In course of 10 years the Vidyalaya has sealed new heighs and has emerged as a leading educational institute in Howrah.
The objects of education is complete development of ail faculties and by numerous activities social, cultural, sports etc. It has helped students to be proud of belonging to Shree Jain Vidyalays. In the present times all education is incomplete without computer courses. In addition to this facility speaks the outlook of the management. A very cordial relation exists among the management, staff members, students and Shree Shwetambar Sthanakwasi Jain Sabha. This team spirit is the main contributor of fast progress and better result of the students.
I send my hearty congratulations and share with the School the joy for celebrating its 10th anniversary. My all the best wishes for further development and hope the management will be successful in giving value based education to the students.
