The eclipse probably is the one of Wednesday, 5th June A.D. 1118, the only lunar eclipse of ś. 1040 that was visible in India.

This appears to be the date of the inscription of Gandaraditya, mentioned in Graham'. Kolhapoor. p. 319. No.1.
• He is mentioned also in the two Kolhapur Kanarese inscriptions in Graham's Kolhapoor, p. 465, No. 19, and p. 466, No. 21.-Compare also above, No. 220, and below, No. 418.
On this day the tithi of the date commenced 1 h. 26 m. after menn sunrise. • The inscription ends with a Kanarese verse.
