In the lineage of Yadu (the legendary) king Sala, at Sasakapura, acquired the name Hoysala; then, after other kings, Vinayaditya; his son Ereyanga; his sons Ballâla [I.] 1 Partly identical with Inacr. at Sravana-Belgola, No. 59; above, No. 389. He defeated the Chola's feudatory Adiyama, the ligula Daman, the feudatory Damodara, Narasimhavarman and other Chola feudatories. - Regarding Adiyama compare Ep. Ind. Vol. VI. p. 381, note 7. He laid siege to Uchchangi and took its king Kâmadêva; compare No. 416. The text partly agrees with the text of No. 410. On this day the tithi of the date commenced 0 h 30 m. after means inrisa.
