He should thereafter hold discussions with the experts about the scriptural meanings and interpretations. ततश्च सन्ध्यासमये कृत्वा देवार्चनं पुनः । कृतावश्यककर्मा च कुर्यात् स्वाध्यायमुत्तमम् ॥ १२६॥ Meaning Then in the evening, he should again offer worship to the gods which should be followed by a pratikramana (taking note of the evil deeds done and repenting for them). He should then, winding up his activities, plunge into religious study. न्याय्ये काले ततो देवगुरुस्मृतिपवित्रितः । निद्रामल्पामुपासीत प्रायेणाब्रह्मवर्जकः ॥ १३०॥ Meaning: Being purified ( in mind) by the reverential memories of the guru, after the religious study (svaddhyaya), the layman should go to sleep (which should be as little as possible) and observe continence generally. 90 निद्राच्छेवे योषिव सतत्वं परिचिन्तयेत् । स्थूलभद्राद्रिसाधूनां तन्निवृत्ति परामृशन् ॥ १३१ ॥ Meaning: After the sleep is over, he should think about the worthlessness of the female body which was rejected (physically, verbally, and mentally) by Sthulabhadra and others. यकृच्छकृम्मल - श्लेष्म मज्जास्थिपरिपूरिताः स्नायुस्यूता बही रम्याः स्त्रियश्चर्मप्रसेविकाः ॥ १३२ ॥ बहिरन्तविपर्यासः स्त्रीशरीरस्य चेद्भवेत् । तस्यैव कामुकः कुर्याद गृध्रगोमायुगोपनम् ।। १३३ ।। Yoga Shashtra Jain Education International - For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
