It will be seen that many of these words go back to Prākrit counter-parts, show popular Sanskrit spelling, are back-formations, or have a different shade of meaning. Some of the stylistic features remind us of the involved gerundive construction seen in the Kannada Vaddārādhane and other similar texts. It is not unlikely that the author had before him some sources in Kannada, besides those in Prākrit and Sanskrit. 5. PRABHĀCANDRA : THE AUTHOR At present, only one Ms. of AKP is available; and, on the basis of it, it is felt that one and the same Prabhācandra has composed the entire AKP which shows two clear-cut parts.
